There continues to be ongoing challenges with Land Registry who seem to be struggling to address some core issues. We have seen registration times increasing, which means it is taking longer for our clients to get their names onto the title of a property.
For example, new builds or new leases are taking up to 4 months, and until complete, the buyer cannot sell or remortgage their property. Then there is the issue that they are no longer combining multiple titles into a single one. The impact of this is that when our current buyers come to sell their property, their new buyers will have to go through the same process of checking multiple titles and resolving any issues that arise.
